Has your DSLR been sitting in a box since Christmas 2019?
Do the dials and buttons scare the crap out you and make you freeze in terror? It happens to the best of us. It’s hard enough to keep up with our phone camera… and on that note, why even learn your DSLR when cell phones are so great at it?
Because there is a difference. The image quality, pixel for pixel, is not the quite the same …. not yet. Trust me, I have tried to take nature photos with my phone and I’m always more pleased with what my Canon can do.
We’ll start at the very beginning by pulling out our manuals and turning the camera on. By the time you leave you will know:
What all those buttons and dials do!
Aperature/ Shutter Speed/ ISO and why each one is important
How to use a memory card and how to download your images to your device of choice
Lenses and focal lengths
What’s in a basic camera kit
The difference between raw and jpg and which one to use for the best images
Metering
White Balance
Photography styles and types
How to track moving subjects (like babies!)
